Robbert gave me the feeling he really listened, but he was also brave enough to push me (very few people dare to confront me). Robbert never tried to please me, but always tried to engage me to see things from a different perspective and to tickle my curiosity. And there were times Robbert simply just listened and showed compassion. For me my learning and turning point was to realize that turning my back to abusive people is wiser than trying to beat them in their game. After all, all that matters is to be true to yourself. The sessions were quite intense and the 45 minutes passed too quickly, but I learnt a great deal!
